How to Use and Care of Your LED Lamps?

How to Use and Care of Your LED Lamps?

LED lights last significantly longer than traditional lamps, but there are still some things you should do to ensure optimal performance.

Don't overdrive LEDs - Follow wattage, voltage and current guidelines. Over-powered lights may fail prematurely.

Avoid vibrations and impacts - Gentle handling prevents cracking of internal components.

Beware of high heat levels - Proper ventilation is key as heat degrades emitters. Don't block airflow or place in enclosed fixtures.

Clean lenses periodically - Dirt and dust can filter light output. Use dry microfiber cloths only.

Check for loose connections - Over time, wires may become disconnected due to movement. Inspect and tighten.

Watch for faulty switch operation - Intermittent flickering may indicate a replacement is needed.

Replace completely burned out LEDs - Unlike CFLs, individual LED chips don't necessarily fail one by one.

Consider a lumen maintenance schedule - Plan to change lamps when light output depreciates to a certain level, say 70%.

Adhering to these basic tips can help ensure your LEDs last their rated lifespan, saving you money in the long run.
